CHILDREN
Nursery
Nursery is available for children 0 to 3 during Sunday School and Sunday Morning Worship. The Nursery is located in the lower level.
Kids4Truth
Kids 4Thruth is a children’s program offered for age three through grade 6. While there, they have snacks and focus on God’s Word, they play games and worship God together. This program runs mid-September through April.
IRBC – Camp
Iowa Regular Baptist Camp is located on the banks of Clear Lake in Ventura, Iowa. This camp has a huge acreage full of adventures and games. There are various camps for many age groups. check out their website HERE.

Sunday School
Each week our Sunday School hour for children ages 2 – 6th grade is a chance for our children to learn the lessons of the bible. Our teachers make the lessons relevant and present them at a level the children will understand.
Wednesday Nights
On Wednesday Nights, we have midweek ministries for all ages.
Our Kid's Club (age 2-6th grade) consists of a lesson time, game time, and snack time.
Our teens will pray together, play a game, sing songs, and have a lesson time.
Men and Women have separate prayer meetings and Bible studies as well.
STUDENTS
STUDENT MINISTRIES
American teens today face extraordinary moral and social pressures. At younger and younger ages, they are influenced to turn away from church, from their families and from God. FBC is deeply committed to reaching young people and equipping them to trust God, obey His teachings and share His love with their peers. This goal is accomplished through teaching sound doctrine, applying God's Word to everyday life for teens, partnering with other churches across the state for teen activities, and encouraging our youth to start being involved in the different ministries of the church.
"Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12
Pastor Cole leads the youth group (grades 7-12) on Sunday mornings. They meet from 9:30 – 10:15 am. They focus on learning practical and Biblical teachings relevant to Christian teens today.
Pastor Cole also leads the youth group each Wednesday night from 7-8 pm. There is a time of prayer, game time, singing, and practical teaching from God’s Word.. This program runs from September through April.
The teens meet above the East wing of the church in a casual and comfortable room. Feel free to call or email us with any questions about our teen ministries. All teens are welcome to attend our programs.
Iowa Regular Baptist Camp has events for the teens and pre-teens both in the summer and winter seasons. This is a great place for our youth to learn about Jesus Christ, grow in Him and grow in their own walk with Christ.
Adults
Adult Ministries
In todays fast paced lifestyle we have so many things to take care of. We work, raise our kids, attend our kids school activities, help out in the community, etc. Society seems to have changed over the years. There was once a time when we all knew our neighbors and had them into our homes. Today we just do not seem to find the time to make friends and take the time to develop those friendships. At First Baptist Church we provide you with opportunities to interact and develop personal relationships with other adults and to have these relationships centered on Christ and service to him.
Men
Join Pastor Dan on Wednesday evenings from 7-8 pm in the east wing for an encouraging time of grace-driven discipleship, accountability, fellowship and prayer. Men, in general whether married or single often live isolated from the active fellowship of other Christian men. Because the Christian life is meant to be lived in community with other believers our goal is to build relationships among men for the purpose of accountability and discipleship.
Women
The women’s Bible study meets each Wednesday evening from 7-8 pm. This is a special time where women can talk and share about their struggles, goals, and desires for their lives. There is a nursery available during this time.
Adult Bible Fellowship
There are four adult Bible fellowship classes at First Baptist Waverly each Sunday at 9:30 am; the College and 20 Something class meets in the balcony, young adults meet in the East Wing, the Middle Adult Class meets in the West Wing, and the Senior adults meet in the north section of the main auditorium.
Life Groups
Our Life Groups are the heartbeat of our church community, providing a place for connection, encouragement, and spiritual growth. Meeting from October through May on the first Sunday of each month, these small groups gather in homes and other welcoming spaces to share life, study God’s Word, and pray together. Life Groups are designed to help build deeper relationships within the church family while offering a supportive environment to grow in faith and live out the gospel in everyday life. Whether you are new to our church or have been here for years, Life Groups are a great way to find belonging and build lasting friendships.
